Another Spring - Copyrights as Arts Centre Moves Online

Saturday I did some stills of a Curator Tour by Dr Jean Wainwright, part of Another Spring, current show at the Phoenix Exeter and still there during the Phonic Takeover on June 9th. They are now on  Flickr in a set.

I had hoped to do some video. There are usually less than 50 people at these talks so some sort of record could help others who attend later or may not know about the show. Online video works for music but less for theatre and visuals.

Chris Dercon keynote for a MOOC couple of years ago claimed that Arts Centres are to expand by moving online. This may not be quite true yet, still many signs of investment in buildings. But the changes could be various.

Recently I came across Virtually Connecting who arrange video conferencing from events. They arrange talks on the edge of official events. Some years ago this would not have happened so attitudes may be changing.

Another Spring covers by implication topics such as Trump and Brexit, popular themes in social media. Some art is made out of newspapers. So there is scope for related tweets etc, both visual and as comment on news. When Radio ! was in the Phoenix a couple of years ago there was discussion on how music formats changed to be online but less about news. Recently more clips appear online from TV and newspaper sites have some original video. So more about this in this blog later.
